The Orion Partnership and Touchstone are very pleased to be taking part in the Community Cares Volunteering (CCV) initiative set up by Voluntary Action Leeds and Leeds City Council to support vulnerable people, people who are self isolating and shielded members of the community during this period of lockdown in response to Covid 19.

The Orion partnership is a consortium of Feel Good Factor, Shantona Women’s Centre, Space2 and Zest Health for Life – four like-minded organisations based in and working from East North East Leeds to promoting inclusion, tackle social isolation and reduce health inequalities. All the work the four organisations do both individually and collectively aims to help reduce social isolation in the most deprived communities we serve.

The Orion Partnership and Touchstone are leading on the Community Cares Volunteering scheme in Chapel Allerton, working closely with LCC Locality Teams and Councillors. All partners work with people in their local communities to improve health and wellbeing by providing activities, projects and services to improve access to health opportunities for some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Under the Community Cares Volunteering scheme The Orion Partnership and Touchstone co-ordinates support for residents in needs in the Chapel Allerton Ward, with the help of local people who have volunteered as members of the Community Care programme. Support provided includes food parcel delivery, shopping, prescription collection, dog walking and telephone calls to some of the most isolated members of the community.

Since 6th April the Chapel Allerton Community Cares Volunteering Leadership Team has provided a range of much needed support to over 200 individuals and families in the area.

Corrina Lawrence, Chief Executive of Feel Good Factor says, “Feel Good Factor, our Orion partners and Touchstone are very pleased and proud to be doing our bit in contributing to supporting and safeguarding those most in need in these unprecedented times”.

If you are in need of help please call the Leeds City Council contact centre on 0113 3781877 who will connect you with local support.
