Our Community Builder, Hiesha is working in the Harehills area to support carers from BAME communities.
The aim of this work is to enable carers to access activities and provide them with a short break from caring.
We use the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) model which means we build on things already found in the community to enable and empower individuals, groups and organisations (Community Connectors) to come together and use their strength and their potential to increase the strength of that community.
Hiesha will focus on engaging with the local community to create opportunites for carers to meet and share their thoughts and ideas. She will be out and about in Harehills, engaging with Community Connectors and together we will lead positive change.
Throughout the course of this project, Hiesha will be showcasing her journey and celebrating everyone’s achievements.
If you would like to help to lead the way to positive change in Harehills, or you know of any carers that would benefit from a short break from caring, we have a small pot of funding to get ideas off the ground.
Join the ABCD movement, everyone has something to give!
