Our background
Feel Good Factor (FGF) is a registered Charity based in Chapeltown, Leeds and has been in existence since 2003 when we gained five years funding from the New Opportunities Fund and North East Primary Care Trust. This funding enabled Feel Good Factor to provide and develop a range of health and wellbeing activities and initiatives for the residents of Chapeltown and Harehills.
Since then we have developed a city wide remit and deliver high quality services and activities both locally and across the city which addresses health inequalities for some the most diverse, vulnerable and disadvantaged communities in Leeds.
We have a proud track record and close relationships with a wide range of strategic and operational partners.
The focus of our work
Our overall aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities in Leeds by enhancing lifestyles and increasing access to opportunities particularly for those most disadvantaged by:
Providing a range of health and wellbeing services and activities which are reflective of the needs of the communities we serve.
Working in partnership with other agencies to ensure the widest range of services and activities is available that best matches the needs of the communities we serve:
- Focusing on promoting physical and mental wellbeing in its widest sense.
- Providing opportunities for local people to access education and training.
- Provision of activities that promote inclusion and break down social isolation.
In Spring 2022 Feel Good Factor was recognised as having met all the requirements of the Carbon Literacy Standard and thus for the purposes of workplace, education and the community should be regarded as Carbon Literate. Feel Good Factor is dedicated to reduce the impact we have on the environment, whilst promoting sustainability through our activities and groups with service users in addition to within our staff team and building.
