Our History

Established in 2003, we have a proud track record and close relationships with a wide range of strategic and operational partners. We work in a number of local and diverse communities in Leeds providing activities and services to some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the city.

The focus of our work

Our overall aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of local communities in Leeds by enhancing lifestyles and increasing access to opportunities particularly for those most disadvantaged by:

· Providing a range of health and wellbeing services and activities which are reflective of the needs of the communities we serve.

· Working in partnership with other agencies to ensure the widest range of services and activities is available that best matches the needs of the communities we serve.

· Working in partnership with other agencies to ensure the widest range of services and activities is available that best matches the needs of the communities we serve.

· Focusing on promoting physical and mental wellbeing in its widest sense.

· Providing opportunities for local people to access education and training.

· Provision of activities that promote inclusion and break down social isolation.

Our Funding, Services & Partnership Working

We are involved in a number of significant projects and strategic partnerships but we recognise that we cannot survive on past reputation alone. Following a period of review we are looking to grow and strengthen the organisation based on our strategic aim to support people to improve their health and wellbeing.

Feel Good Factor’s activities and services are funded through a mixture of commissioned and grant funded projects. We have an established office and community facility in Chapeltown and we have and continue to deliver services within a range of community or GP settings areas across Leeds and include the following:

Through our Orion partnership, Feel Good Factor is the lead and accountable body delivering the Public Health funded Better Together programme across East North East Leeds.

We are a partner of the Leeds Citywide Social Prescribing Service, Linking Leeds.

We work in partnership with BID to deliver the Leeds Hearing and Sight Loss Service.

Our Choices Project focusses on reducing loneliness and social isolation primarily, but not solely, for older people 60+ from ethnically diverse communities in Leeds, who have one or more long term condition, through a range of activities including social activities at the weekend.

Our Care Coordinators, Link Workers and Health and Wellbeing Coaches provide support, care planning and coordination of input from a range of partners across Primary Care Networks with the key aim to increase and support independence. They ensure that people, particularly people who are the most vulnerable, receive person-centred co-ordinated care, which is responsive to their needs and is designed with them, their carers and supporting services. This model is a model which brings medical and social together to support better health outcomes for individuals with long term conditions.

Our Connect Men’s Group brings together men at risk of social isolation for support, self-development and friendship.

Enhance is a locality based service, supporting people recently discharged from the Chapeltown Neighbourhood Team. The service aims to provide practical support for people to attend and engage in activities within community settings using a person centred approach enabling choice, respect individuality and encourages self-determination.
