“I feel like I have fallen from the sky into heaven.”

A new service user lost her granddaughter to cancer a few months ago and had moved to Leeds, from Ireland, to support her family on the loss. It was an extremely difficult time.

Not very familiar with Leeds, our service user felt emotionally isolated and sad, dealing with the void which had been created by the loss of her granddaughter.

One of her personal contacts then introduced her to Feel Good Factor which helped her tremendously in coping with her bereavement and occupying her time with meeting new people and taking part in activities.

She is now accessing Feel Good Factor’s Swimming Group, Toast and Friendship Group, Book Club and she also took her first day trip to Scarborough with us. She has made friends with other service users and really enjoys her time here.

When asked how she was doing her exact words were “I feel like I have fallen from the sky into heaven”.
