Feel Good Factor (FGF) supports people to improve their health and wellbeing. Established over 20 years ago, based in Chapeltown, we work with communities all across Leeds providing activities, projects and services to improve access to health opportunities for some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
As a registered charity Feel Good Factor receives dedicated funding from a variety of sources to carry out the much needed work we do. However, sometimes funding can be restrictive and not allow for that additional help that could make a real difference to the work we do and the people we support. Whether it’s a one-off donation, adopting us as your charity of the year or running a fundraising event, all support is welcome.
Feel Good Factor recognises changing communities, their needs and we respond accordingly. Our focus is on local people and their needs and this will never change. Every donation makes an impact.
If you would like to make a donation to the work of Feel Good Factor please take a look below at the breakdown of some of our costs which might inspire you to help:
£20 is the cost of keeping our building warm for one day in the winter so our service users can come to a warm space, get a hot drink and a chat to save money on their own heating bill.
£25 covers the cost of refreshments for a group coming together to support each other, learn new skills and combat social isolation.
£35 is the cost of running yoga session which supports mental and physical wellbeing.
£40 covers the cost of a fitness class. This will pay for an instructor to provide exercise for our members which will support them to stay healthy and help manage any long term conditions.
An arts and crafts session with materials costs around £50 and enables people to learn new skills in a friendly environment, including knitting, sewing and drawing all of which help support mental wellbeing, builds confidence and encourages new networks for isolated people.
£75 covers the cost of hiring out a pool for one of our swimming sessions. Swimming is great exercise and helps to ease aches and pains. Being able to hire our own space means ladies who wouldn’t normally access mixed classes, due to a variety of reasons, can take part in a safe and secure environment.
£80 is the cost of hosting the Saturday Social Group, a much needed out of hours group providing support and activities for those who are socially isolated.
£750 is the transport cost for a trip to the seaside. A number of our service users are unable to take trips either due to finances, mobility or lack of confidence, so arranging the opportunity to do these enables people to see and explore places they probably wouldn’t get chance to reach.
Aside from that contributions of any value can be used to buy kit for our weekly Gardening Group, an amazing group of volunteers group who tend our Community Garden. We are always in need of tools, and to buy plants and seeds including lettuce, potatoes and fruit that the local community can come and help themselves to from our garden.
