I joined Feel Good Factor in 2017 working on a project called Healthy Lives Healthy Homes as the Peer Support and Activities Development Worker, my role was to provide activities and peer support for older people who have become socially isolated through ill health or caring responsibilities. Previous to this role I worked for Leeds Black Elders engaging with elders in the Chapeltown area of Leeds providing advocacy, activities and general support to help all elders remain in their home for as long as possible. Since the end of the HLHH project I have worked for a Healthcare organisation as a Marketing and Business Co-ordinator.
I am really pleased to have been asked to return back to FGF to be the replacement worker for Community Builder (Carers). I hope to bring my love for engaging with people, motivating individuals and building and developing from the grass roots up, to make a positive change to people’s lives and make the project a huge success.
