Feel Good Factor is pleased to announce we has received second wave Big Lottery Funding for their Healthy Lives, Healthy Homes Project.

Project Summary

To promote and support active, healthy independent living for older people residing in the ethnically diverse areas of Chapeltown and Harehills. By providing a seamless project with locally based organisations and volunteers working together, enabling older people to better retain and maintain their health, independence, and control. This next phase will have a focus on older BME people with Long Term Conditions (LTC) and Carers of people with Dementia.

We are now recruiting to the following positions to take forward the project into its next phase:

HEALTHY LIVES, HEALTHY HOMES PROJECT COORDINATOR – 21hrs per week Salary £25,000 pro-rata. Funded for 3 years to commence 3rd April 2017

Job Summary

  • To be overall responsible for the operational and strategic development and delivery of the Healthy Lives, Healthy Homes project
  • Line management the Healthy Lives, Healthy Homes Peer Support and Activities Work
  • To work closely with our partners, Care and Repair Leeds and Leeds Black Elders.
  • To recruit and train a minimum of ten volunteers per year, to become Living Well Peer Support Champions
  • To be responsible for the monitoring and reporting on the project to funders and other stakeholders
  • To report to and take guidance from the Project Management Board.

HLHH PEER SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES DEVELOPMENT WORKER – 17.5 hrs per week. Salary £21,500 pro-rata – Funded for 3 years to commence 3rd April 2017

Job Summary

  • To provide opportunities for social, emotional and wellbeing activities for older people with long term conditions (LTCs) and Carers
  • To support the development of peer mentoring and support initiatives.
  • To provide information and support to Carers in relation to accessing mainstream services for people with LTCs including Dementia.
  • To work closely with our partners, Care and Repair Leeds and Leeds Black Elders.
  • To support the HLHH Coordinator in recruiting and training of individuals to become Living Well Peer Support Champions (Volunteers)
