Introduction

Feel Good Factor’s Let's play project is funded by both the Big Lottery and Leeds city Council, it provides open access play provision to children aged 5 - 13 in East and North Leeds. Open access means that children are free to come and go as they please, like a drop in provision. It is a free service for all children in the local area to attend and local parents are encouraged to get involved.

Play sessions are facilitated by the play team who are all CRB checked, qualified, and experienced. Let's Play takes place in areas of of that have been identified as having little or no local play provision. the sessions that we provide run all year round in all weathers! In most areas we have an after school session every week and alternate Saturday sessions each week. In summer, the majority of sessions run outside and in winter we have indoor venues to seek shelter when the weather gets too cold.

The purpose of our sessions is to provide child led play, we ensure that children have autonomy in their play and involve children in decisions about their free time. When we have outdoor sessions in the summer we allow children opportunities to test boundaries, learn and explore their enviroment and learn life skills such as making go-karts and building dens which are often not part of play anymore.

The areas which Let' Play has regular sessions are:
