The Orion Partnership

The Orion Partnership is a consortium of four like-minded organisations; Feel Good Factor, Zest-Health for Life, Space2 and Shantona Women’s Centre based and working within East North East Leeds, sharing common values and organisational cultures with over 40 years direct experience in our communities.  The partnership was 12 months in the forging prior to its formal launch in October 2012 and this has included joint events for both staff and trustees including staff away days and joint trustees meetings.

Since our inception, we have been successful in obtaining funding to develop and deliver innovative projects such as:

Modern Living – funded by Lloyds TSB Foundation

A three year project supporting older people to become better socially connected through developing and improving their IT skills

Men’s Health Insight Work –  funded Tudor Trust

A two year project to identify and gather information on health needs of men within the catchment areas of the Orion partners.  This information will be used to identify gaps in provision and development of strategies to ensure that the health needs of men within our localities are addressed.

Love Food Hate Waste – WRAP

Funded through WRAP Orion partners are delivering a series of activities aimed at helping reduce household waste across the city.

Throughout January and February 2016 we ran four week fun interactive workshops with communities passing on useful hints and tips about meal planning, using leftovers and correct food storage. The aim  was to help reduce the amount of food that Leeds as a city throws away. Helping to improve the environment as well as pounds in people pockets.
