Louis Street Community Garden
We are fortunate to receive funding through the Big Lotterys Community Spaces programme to redevelop the green space around our office in Chapeltown. Since the initial work finished in 2010, the garden provides educational activities that support environmental sustainability including vegetable and flower growing and recycling. Our main aspiration is for a garden in which members of the local community can learn, support and socialise with others.
The project is aimed at local residents and provides an opportunity to;
- Learn and share gardening skills
- Grow flowers, fruit and vegetables
- Meet new people
- Stay active
- Increase awareness of surrounding wildlife
Our weekly garden group meets every Wednesday 10.30 to 12.30.
